blindly gazing

into the sacred

and profane

held within.

unknown to mortal hearts,

yet felt by us;

never fully known by any.

riveted to blinded hope

of one more flight

of servitude

in its presence —

outside of time,

beyond control.

ear bent,

frozen,

waiting for one more

guided trick —

a commandment,

one more

whisper

from beyond.

Vasil studied under Norval Morrisseu. Norval Morrisseau CM RCA, also known as Copper Thunderbird, was an Indigenous Canadian artist from the Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek First Nation.
