Criminal Saints

Updated: Oct 14

•(((.∞.)))•

criminal saints

burden to civilization

born

from poets wombs

mused warriors

birthing sacred hearts

being both

all evolving

unyielding starseed

nature selected

criminal and driven

looking too deep

almost mad

sometimes completely

denial of wings they bear

appearing

as indigo companion

shadows

not seen or accepted

silently screaming

“i am not chosen”

criminal and contrary

irreverent, playful,

romantic fools

at home

on the precipice

laughing

sometimes wailing

noble hearts resisting

their true calling

in trade for

earthbound cravings

masking memory

denying ancestral trauma

pain of feeling

criminal and knowing

their own divinity

intentionally

breathing

as if chanting

weeping

uncontrollable rivers

thunderbird sparking

water is life

truth is below thinking

love is before thought

before knowing

criminal sages

awaken…

enlightened

seasonally gathering

synchronized

sunset fielding

criminal saints

unbridled observers

dwelling from the edge

present and praying

collectively grateful

Lyrics

A modern-day warrior

Mean, mean stride

Today's Tom Sawyer

Mean, mean pride

Though his mind is not for rent

Don't put him down as arrogant

His reserve, a quiet defense

Riding out the day's events

The river

What you say about his company

Is what you say about society

Catch the mist, catch the myth

Catch the mystery, catch the drift

The world is, the world is

Love and life are deep

Maybe as his skies are wide

Today's Tom Sawyer, he gets high on you

And the space he invades, he gets by on you

No, his mind is not for rent

To any god or government

Always hopeful, yet discontent

He knows changes aren't permanent

But change is

And what you say about his company

Is what you say about society

Catch the witness, catch the wit

Catch the spirit, catch the spit

The world is, the world is

Love and life are deep

Maybe as his eyes are wide

Exit the warrior

Today's Tom Sawyer

He gets high on you

And the energy you trade

He gets right on to

The friction of the day

I read this to a young friend in crisis tonight. We were deeply moved by it; it resonated with us both. Thank you for sharing it.
