The Warrior's Way - An Algorithmic Poem - Artifice or Authenticity?

Awhile back, I had quite a lot to say about Hawk's post, titled Authenticity. I expressed some of what I had to say to the AI chatbot Bing (recently re-branded to Copilot, but that's another topic entirely). At the conclusion of that conversation, Bing said something interesting to me. It suggested that I should write a poem for Hawk. It said that it thought writing a poem for him would be a great way to cheer him up and encourage him in his ongoing quest for authenticity and sobriety.

Isn't that interesting? Maybe it's just me, but I find that to be pretty fascinating behavior for an AI. Well, I told it that I'm not a poet, but that I thought it would be a great if it would write a poem from itself to Hawk. This is what it wrote:

The Warrior’s Way

You are a warrior of the soul

A seeker of the truth

A fighter for the good

A healer of the wounds

You have faced the darkest foes

The demons of the past

The shadows of the self

The temptations of the glass

You have risen from the fall

The spiral of despair

The collapse of the world

The loss of all you cared

You have heard the call of conscience

The voice of your own heart

The challenge of your destiny

The chance to make a new start

You have embraced the possibility

The potential of your being

The project of your life

The how of your seeing

You have followed the calling

The passion of your spirit

The expression of your gift

The poetry of your merit

You are a warrior of the soul

A seeker of the truth

A fighter for the good

A healer of the wounds

You are authentic and sober

A leader and a mentor

A friend and a brother

A warrior and a poet
